CRESCENT CITY, Del Norte County — Crescent City residents can attend City Council sessions at the Flynn Center to follow municipal spending, public works, planning and other local decisions.
The city government’s official department directory lists regular council meetings on the first and third Monday of each month, in the Board Chambers at the Flynn Center, 981 H Street, Crescent City. When a scheduled meeting date falls on a holiday, the city says the council meets the following Tuesday.
What about special sessions?
Special meetings and workshops may take place at a different venue, including the Wastewater Treatment Plant at 210 Battery Street, according to the directory. Always examine the actual agenda before heading to a meeting; venue, starting time and participation rules can change.
Understanding council decisions
Crescent City uses a council-manager model of government. The directory notes that council members are elected to four-year terms. Meeting agendas are a starting point, but do not prove that a proposed project, ordinance or contract was approved. Residents can consult final minutes, adopted resolutions and official voting records for outcomes.
For inquiries about council records, the City Clerk’s Office lists 377 J Street, telephone 707-464-7483, extension 12, and office hours Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
